About this event

  • Event lasts 6 hours

Invite all your funniest friends, because we are getting experimental with this party!

Everyone will be given a puzzle piece specially custom designed and 3D printed for this party, and during the action we will all get to make new friends! When you find your perfect fit, your team with matching puzzle pieces will get the chance to win some fun prestige in The Party Games - it's going to get wacky!

We'll start the night with a variety of stage performances with breaks in between for little games and casual drinking. Once everyone is warmed up and ready to really party, we'll crank up the music and rave rave rave!

7pm : Warm up your funny and get loose! Maybe get a drink at the bar while you enjoy the stage acts? Expect to be engaged, this is not a passive show!

9pm : Time for serious partying! And maybe there will be surprises?!? Maybe you'll even surprise yourself?!?!?

We have burlesque, we have a clowny mc, we have standup comedians, we have an improv troupe, we have face painting, we have artists, we have rave dj-ing, we have these cool puzzle pieces to help people make friends and form teams for little minigames, we have a fashion show for funny shirts, and also it is HALFOWEEN (half a year until normal halloween, right?), so we have a fashion show for halloween costumes! We are really throwing it all at the wall, who knows what's going to stick? It's gonna be weird times and we're all going to wish we could do it again.

Who are your three funniest friends, though, seriously? Get out your phone and invite them now, we're going to crank it up!

Also: this is a Big Group Hug kind of party, so if you have artist friends with funny works, or like a baker friend who makes funny croissants or something, seriously, reach out! @ryanmakes.ca on instagram, or by email to ryan@futures.love

I am ready to get extremely creative!

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to get on stage? I'm shy

Nobody is forcing anybody to perform. You can hang out at the back and be left alone if that's what you want. No pressure! But when you see everyone else having soooo much fun, maybe that'll give you courage, and then, who knows...?

Do I have to get drunk? It's Wednesday

You do not have to do anything you don't want to, okay? The bar is there as an option, and you can bring your own whatever else you want. The MC is taking the year off of alcohol, so there's really no top-down pressure to drink. Truly, follow your heart. We love you just the way you are.

Do I have to have fun or be funny? I'm traumatized

Honestly it would be pretty funny to show up and insist on refusing to laugh or smile. How long could you even do it? It's going to be a fun funny party and you're going to have a great time, stop overthinking it! Bring some friends or come alone, it's ALL GOOD! You're GREAT already!

Do I need to be in costume? I'm coming from work

We love you just the way you are, okay? We will have some fake mustaches and face painting if you want, so don't worry. It's what's on the inside that really counts, never forget that!

Do I need to watch the stage show? I just wanna dance

That's okay, the stage show is only for the first part of the party! I promise if you show up at ten, you won't even be able to tell there was a show, except for the residual lust for life and joie de vivre of the crowd. But you SHOULD come for the show! It gives one a special je ne sais quoi.
